We are a family business. Since 2007, Excellent Caretakers has been caring for families across Greater Los Angeles. Good care is a relationship. It should also rest on the boring, checkable things that protect your family if something goes wrong.

Home Care Organization licence #194700102, issued by the California Department of Social Services. You can verify it with the state.
Bonded and insured
Cover is in place for the work our caregivers do in your home, so you are not carrying that risk yourself.
Workers' compensation on every caregiver
Our caregivers are our employees, not independent contractors. If a caregiver is hurt while working in your home, that is covered by our workers' compensation — not by you.
Every caregiver screened before they start
Background checks, verification against the state Home Care Aide registry, and reference checks — completed before anyone is matched with your family.
A question worth asking any agency: are the caregivers employees, or independent contractors? Agencies and registries that place contractors generally carry no workers' compensation for them. If someone is injured in your home, that liability can land on the family. Ask who carries the cover before you sign anything.

Straight answers before you call.
What does non-medical home care include?
Help with the everyday things that keep someone safe and comfortable at home: bathing, dressing, grooming and moving around the house; meals and light housekeeping; errands; conversation and company; and relief for family caregivers. We do not provide nursing or medical care, and caregivers do not give medical advice. If your loved one has medical needs, we work alongside the family and their healthcare team.
How much does home care cost?
Care is billed by the hour, for the hours you schedule, including 24-hour care. Your rate depends on the level of care and the schedule, so we confirm it in writing at your free consultation, before anything starts. Long shifts and around-the-clock care can include overtime hours, which are billed at time and a half, and we will show you exactly how your schedule prices out.
Do you offer 24-hour or live-in care?
Yes. We arrange everything from a few hours a week up to around-the-clock care, with a small, consistent team of caregivers on rotation so your loved one sees familiar faces.
How quickly can care start?
It starts once we have spoken, agreed a care plan and matched a caregiver. Tell us your timeline when you call and we will be honest about what is possible for your schedule and neighborhood.
Do you accept Medi-Cal, IHSS or insurance?
Our care is private pay. We do not accept Medi-Cal or IHSS. Some long-term care insurance policies reimburse care from a licensed home care organization, so it is worth checking your policy.
Which areas do you serve?
We are based in Glendale and care for families in Pasadena, San Marino, the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and across Greater Los Angeles. If you don’t see your neighborhood, call and ask.
What if a caregiver isn’t the right fit?
Tell us. Fit matters as much as skill. We will talk it through with you and arrange a different caregiver.
